Annual Coaches Training Meeting

Each year before the High School Programming Competition, we host a Coaches Training Meeting for all registered coaches. During this kickoff session, we review the competition format, timeline, rules, and answer questions to help coaches prepare for the upcoming event.

Practice Scrimmages @ Broward

Organized by Coach Andre, the Broward Programming Scrimmage provides local high school teams with an additional opportunity to prepare for FIU HSPC. Students practice solving programming problems in a timed, team-based environment similar to an actual competition.

Through the scrimmage, teams can strengthen their problem-solving, communication, time-management, and contest strategy skills before competing at FIU.

Success Spotlight: NOVA High School

Nova High School used the Broward Programming Scrimmage as part of its preparation for FIU HSPC. The scrimmage gave students valuable experience working together under time pressure, testing problem-solving strategies, and building confidence in a contest-style environment.

Their preparation paid off at FIU HSPC, where the team earned 1st Place in Division II. Their success highlights how consistent practice and participation in scrimmages can help students grow as competitive programmers and perform strongly in competition.
