About the Competition
Welcome to FIU UKG Academy of Computer Science Education’s ICPC Southeast USA Regional Competition. This ICPC competition has programming teams from schools all over Florida come and compete in solving multiple complex technical problems within a day. Since hosting these prestigious programming competitions, we have been proud to showcase the exceptional talent and problem-solving skills of collegiate programming teams across the Southeast region. What is ICPC
The International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) is a team-based collegiate programming competition that challenges students to solve algorithmic problems under limited time. Success depends not only on coding ability, but also on communication, strategy, and teamwork.
ICPC is the primary competition for which the FIU Programming Competition Team prepares. Throughout the semester, team members practice algorithmic problem-solving, communication, and contest strategy so they can represent FIU at regional ICPC competitions.
How ICPC Works
Students per Team
Teams of three work together to solve as many problems as possible
Shared Computer
One team only have one computer, communicate and divide work effectively
Hours Contest
Solve algorithmic problems within five hours, manage time is important
Or More Problems
At least ten questions in a competition. Not in order of difficulty
Kattis Platform
Kattis is the online judging platform used during ICPC competitions. During a contest, teams use Kattis to view the problem set, submit their solutions, and receive judging results. The platform also records solved problems, submission times, and penalty points, which are used to calculate the contest standings. Students should create a free Kattis account before participating in team activities or competitions. Student should also remember there kattis login infomation without need to access their device.
