9:00 am to 4:00 pm, room PG6-105.
The starting and ending dates have changed due to Hurrican Irma
In this 4-day sequence, FIU Ph.D Student Greg Reis will teach you to assemble and program an autonomous robotic car, using the Arduino-based Elegoo UNO Project Smart Robot Car Kit. You will write code to help the robot avoid obstacles and navigate a maze. Prerequisite: At least one semester of Java, C, Python, or C++ programming. Limited to 22 participants, where registration priority is determined by the date and time we receive your registration check. The $40 nonrefundable registration fee covers FREE daily lunch and parking.

Each pair of students will be provided a robot kit to use only in class. As an alternative, you might want to purchase your own kit on Amazon.com before the workshop begins so you can take your completed kit home when the workshop ends. Register online here, write your check payable to "FIU" and send it to the following address: Robotics Workshop (Irvine), FIU School of Computing and Information Sciences, Florida International University, 11200 SW 8th St, room ECS 354, Miami, FL 33199. Please write the name of the workshop participant on the check. After your check is received, you will receive a confirmation by email. If you are a public school teacher, your registration check will be returned to you if you attend all workshop days.
